Key Responsibilities

The QA Technician will be responsible for a wide range of quality assurance activities to uphold Almarai’s reputation for excellence. Your core duties will include:

• Product Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and perform detailed testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspections, and deviations. Ensure full compliance with local and international food safety regulations, such as HACCP, ISO, and GMP standards.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent defects or non-conformities. Collaborate with production teams to optimize processes and enhance overall efficiency.
• Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Verify the calibration and proper functioning of quality control equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the relevant teams.
• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality discrepancies and non-conformities to determine root causes. Develop and implement solutions to address recurring issues and prevent future occurrences.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Participate in quality audits, training sessions, and improvement initiatives as required.
• Customer and Regulatory Liaison: Act as a liaison between Almarai and external regulatory bodies, customers, or third-party auditors to address quality-related inquiries and ensure transparency in all quality assurance processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, or Six Sigma) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with food safety regulations and auditing processes is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, testing techniques, and laboratory equipment. Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools is beneficial.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to identify quality issues and implement effective solutions. Ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international food safety regulations, including HACCP, ISO, and GMP standards. Ability to stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
