Role Overview
As a Workforce Management Assistant Manager at HungerStation, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and managing our third-party picker workforce operations. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong operational acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and high performance. You will be responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing external partners while driving continuous improvement in workforce efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Workforce Sourcing and Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end process of sourcing and onboarding third-party picker partners, including conducting interviews, aligning on store coverage and shift requirements, and ensuring operational readiness through transportation arrangements, housing proximity, and punctual attendance at assigned stores.
- Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Track and enhance in-store picker performance by monitoring attendance, hygiene standards, and operational productivity. Coordinate training and feedback sessions with partners, and initiate replacement requests when performance does not meet HungerStation’s defined standards within the improvement period.
- Data-Driven Workforce Optimization: Analyze workforce and operational performance metrics, such as utilization, adherence, and attendance, to identify inefficiencies and address store-level workforce gaps. Implement actionable improvements that enhance staffing effectiveness and drive operational excellence.
- Vendor Management and Compliance: Oversee the vendor onboarding and partnership processes by reviewing contracts, evaluating operational readiness, and collaborating with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with HungerStation standards and a smooth partner engagement process.
- Partner Accountability and Escalation: Monitor third-party partner performance and enforce accountability by addressing operational issues and lack of responsiveness through structured escalation. Apply contractual penalties when necessary and recommend partnership suspension or termination for vendors who consistently fail to meet HungerStation standards.
- Team Leadership and Development: Set clear performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate direct reports, and deliver regular feedback to foster a high-performance culture. Contribute to talent identification and recruitment efforts to strengthen the workforce management function.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency. Encourage team members to contribute ideas for improvement, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Identify opportunities for continuous process enhancement to drive operational effectiveness.
- Policy Adherence and Consistency: Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and processes to maintain a controlled and consistent work environment. Uphold HungerStation’s core values and promote a culture of excellence across the organization.
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Workforce Management, Operations Planning, or Capacity Planning, with a strong background in contact center, logistics, or operations-heavy environments.
- Analytical Proficiency: Proven expertise in forecasting, scheduling, and performance reporting, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders, including Operations, HR, Finance, and Procurement teams, to drive collaborative decision-making.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
