H2S Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified H2S Technician to join our offshore team in Saudi Arabia. This role is based on a rotational contract aboard a Jack-Up Barge, with a primary focus on ensuring safety and compliance in high-risk environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in monitoring and mitigating hydrogen sulfide (H2S) exposure risks, safeguarding both personnel and assets during offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular H2S monitoring and detection using specialized equipment to assess atmospheric conditions and identify potential hazards.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols in accordance with STCW 2010 regulations and company standards to prevent H2S-related incidents.
• Provide real-time guidance to offshore personnel on safety procedures, emergency response, and evacuation protocols in the event of H2S exposure.
• Maintain accurate records of H2S measurements, safety drills, and incident reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with offshore installation managers and safety officers to develop and update safety plans tailored to the unique challenges of the Jack-Up Barge environment.
• Participate in pre-job safety briefings, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills to reinforce a culture of safety awareness among the crew.
• Ensure all safety equipment, including gas detectors and personal protective gear, is inspected, calibrated, and operational before each shift.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A valid STCW 2010 certification, including all mandatory safety training modules, with additional specialized training in H2S awareness and response.
• A recognized diploma or certification in occupational safety, such as IOSH or an equivalent qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in safety management principles.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on experience working on Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barges (SP-JUB) in offshore environments, with a proven track record in H2S monitoring and safety enforcement.
• Proficiency in English to ensure effective communication with multinational teams and compliance with safety reporting standards.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in demanding offshore conditions, including extended periods at sea and exposure to harsh weather elements.

Contract Details

This position offers a competitive daily wage of $80, with contract durations structured as follows:

• First Rotation: Approximately 5 months (±15 days), providing an opportunity to acclimate to the role and the offshore environment.
• Subsequent Rotations: Also lasting approximately 5 months (±15 days), allowing for continuous service and professional growth within the organization.

The successful candidate will commence duties on June 1, joining a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence in Saudi Arabia’s offshore sector.
