Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, with expertise in cost accounting, ERP systems, and financial reporting under Saudi Arabia GAAP and MASQ internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the organization’s financial operations. Your core duties will include:
- General Ledger Management: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Produce error-free accounting reports, analyze financial information, and summarize financial status to support management in making informed decisions. Identify discrepancies and recommend efficiency improvements in spending and processes.
- Tax & Compliance: Assist with tax audits, tax returns, and ensure compliance with local and international financial standards, including VAT and PAYROLL regulations. Direct internal and external audits to maintain adherence to GAAP principles and internal policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Participate in financial standards setting, forecast processes, and prepare financial statements and budgets in accordance with established schedules.
- Process Improvement: Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Plan, assign, and review staff work to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. Liaise with the Chief Accountant and Accounting Manager to refine financial procedures, requirements, and team competencies.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure all financial activities are accurately recorded and reported.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial experience in a multinational environment, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Dynamics or Business Central 365, and advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with financial accounting statements. Awareness of business trends and compliance requirements in Saudi Arabia.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet critical deadlines for month-end and year-end close processes. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Personal Attributes: A proactive, team-oriented, and reliable approach with the ability to work independently and adapt to evolving business needs. Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is required.
