Position Overview
As a key contributor to one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious Giga projects under Vision 2030, the Senior Specialist - Supply Chain Risk will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the project’s vast supply chain ecosystem. This multibillion-dollar initiative encompasses world-class entertainment, cultural, and lifestyle infrastructure, alongside hospitality, retail, and service sectors. The role demands a strategic and proactive approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks to ensure seamless operations and business continuity. Reporting to the Supply Relationship Management (SRM) & Supply Chain Risk (SCR) leadership team, this position is instrumental in maintaining the resilience and sustainability of the supply chain through robust risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Specialist - Supply Chain Risk will be responsible for executing critical supply chain risk management activities, including:
- Risk Identification and Assessment: Proactively identify potential supply chain risks across procurement categories, evaluating their likelihood and impact using established frameworks. This includes operational, financial, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), compliance, geopolitical, cybersecurity, capacity, and concentration risks.
- Supplier Risk Profiling: Maintain and update comprehensive supplier risk profiles, incorporating risk scoring inputs, dependency analysis, and critical supplier identification under the guidance of SRM & SCR leadership.
- Mitigation and Contingency Planning: Support the implementation and tracking of mitigation actions, contingency plans, and follow-up activities to address identified risks and enhance business continuity.
- External Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor external risk indicators such as regulatory changes, natural disasters, market developments, and supplier-related events that may disrupt the supply chain.
- Enterprise-Level Reporting: Contribute data, insights, and updates for enterprise-level risk views, dashboards, and governance reporting in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business teams to collect and consolidate information on supply chain needs, supplier risk indicators, and dependency requirements, ensuring organization-wide risk visibility.
- Awareness and Training: Support stakeholder awareness initiatives and working sessions on supplier and supply chain risk reporting, escalation channels, and continuity actions in the event of disruptions.
- Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the SRM & SCR team by sharing knowledge, coordinating activities, and maintaining discipline in documentation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Governance and Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and periodic updates of supply chain risk policies, methodologies, playbooks, templates, and working documents. Prepare accurate reports, dashboards, trackers, and management updates on supply chain risk trends, action status, and mitigation progress.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Assist in audits, internal reviews, and compliance requirements related to supplier risk, documentation, governance, and evidence collection.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following competencies:
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Risk Management, or related fields. Prior experience in large-scale projects such as construction, real estate, infrastructure, tourism, entertainment, or urban development is highly desirable.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Law, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree, MBA, or other advanced qualification is preferred for this Senior Specialist level.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or other relevant risk or procurement certifications.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with KSA regulatory requirements and Vision 2030 goals is desirable.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and documentation skills. The ability to identify, summarize, and escalate risks effectively is essential. Proficiency in working in cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships is also required.
