Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, hands-on experience in audit coordination, and expertise in revenue recognition, taxation compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to manage end-to-end accounting processes with precision while ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by executing a wide range of accounting functions. The following core responsibilities outline the scope of this position:
- Revenue & Invoicing Management
Assume full accountability for revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS and internal policies. Oversee the complete invoicing lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with contractual obligations. Conduct regular reconciliations between billing records, revenue schedules, contracts, and general ledger postings to maintain financial accuracy.
- Month-End Closing & Financial Reporting
Lead and/or support critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in accordance with group deadlines. Develop, update, and monitor the monthly closing schedule to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Perform essential tasks such as accruals, prepayments, cost allocations, and general ledger reconciliations. Deliver comprehensive variance analysis with clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Taxation Compliance
Take full ownership of Value-Added Tax (VAT) computation, filing, and compliance to meet regulatory obligations. Manage Withholding Tax (WHT) calculations, tracking, and reporting where applicable. Ensure strict adherence to local tax laws and provide expert support for tax-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Audit Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, facilitating seamless audit processes. Prepare detailed audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation. Proactively resolve audit queries and implement corrective measures to enhance financial controls and compliance.
- Banking & Treasury Support
Conduct regular bank reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Monitor cash movements and provide support for treasury-related reporting as required. Assist in cash flow tracking and forecasting to optimize liquidity management.
- Payroll Support
Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure the accurate preparation of monthly payroll. Validate inputs, allowances, deductions, and related reconciliations to maintain payroll integrity. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to streamline payroll processes and resolve discrepancies.
- Technical Accounting & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies. Provide expert guidance on accounting treatments for new business scenarios, transactions, and policy updates. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Reporting & Financial Analysis
Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, analyses, and management insights as directed by the Finance Director. Support budgeting processes and performance monitoring initiatives. Deliver data-driven insights to facilitate informed decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree and/or professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates possessing audit background. Hands-on experience in managing the full accounting cycle and preparing complete sets of financial statements in accordance with IFRS is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ZATCA requirements and the KSA market is advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
Reporting Structure
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Local Finance Director and the Group Finance Controller, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial excellence and operational efficiency.
