The Role: Regulatory Affairs Officer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Regulatory Affairs Officer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing our robust regulatory framework by ensuring full compliance with Almarai’s Regulatory Affairs standards. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and interpreting evolving regulatory requirements, facilitating the implementation of best practices, and supporting cross-functional teams in achieving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to local, regional, and international regulatory standards governing food safety, quality, and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of regulatory policies and procedures.
- Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory frameworks, including updates to ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP standards, and ensure timely implementation.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation, reports, and applications as required by competent authorities.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training to teams on regulatory requirements and best practices to foster a culture of compliance.
- Support product development and innovation initiatives by ensuring regulatory feasibility and alignment with standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Science, or Chemistry from a recognized institution.
- 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience in the food industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory affairs principles.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP standards, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal, is highly desirable.
