Role Overview

As the Electronic Technician at Movepick Waad al Shamal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of hotel systems and equipment. Your expertise in electronic maintenance will directly enhance reliability, functionality, and guest satisfaction. You will handle first-level electronic maintenance, testing, and repair activities while adhering to established work methods. Your availability will be crucial in supporting hotel operations, including emergency response during peak occupancy periods, to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Hotel Systems Maintenance and Installation

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic components in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures.
• Utilize hand tools and precision instruments effectively for maintenance and repair tasks.
• Verify the visual and functional conformity of all installed and repaired systems to meet hotel standards.
• Identify and report any anomalies, malfunctions, or safety concerns observed during maintenance activities.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment in accordance with hotel safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Functional Testing and System Verification

• Conduct diagnostic tests on hotel systems, including HVAC controls, lighting systems, security equipment, and guest room electronics, following established procedures.
• Employ appropriate test equipment and diagnostic tools to accurately identify system issues.
• Document test results and maintenance activities in compliance with hotel records and regulatory standards.

Equipment Repair and Restoration

• Diagnose electronic problems using established procedures and troubleshooting tools.
• Perform repairs and replacement of defective components in hotel systems and guest room equipment.
• Test repaired systems to confirm proper functionality and guest safety.
• Document all interventions and maintenance activities in accordance with hotel standards.
• Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or external specialists when necessary.

Contribution to Operational Excellence and Guest Satisfaction

• Adhere to all hotel procedures, maintenance protocols, and safety instructions.
• Execute maintenance work in alignment with operational priorities and guest service schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize guest disruption and enhance satisfaction.
• Report recurring issues, system failures, or opportunities for equipment upgrades to management.
• Provide critical support during peak periods and emergency situations to ensure continuous service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of proven experience as an Electronics Technician in a luxury hospitality environment or a 5-star hotel setting.
• Possess strong practical knowledge of hotel electronic systems, including HVAC controls, lighting systems, security equipment, and guest room technology.
• Exhibit hands-on experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electronic components and systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized hotel system diagnostic tools.
• Display excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and prioritize guest satisfaction.
• Strong team player with exceptional communication skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of service.
