Planner (Saudi National)

Role Overview

Parsons, a global leader in engineering and construction services, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Planner to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is exclusively available for Saudi nationals who possess a strong background in project planning, scheduling, and coordination within the construction or engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of projects by developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software. Ensure all project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables are accurately reflected and aligned with contractual obligations.
• Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project managers and team leads to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines and budget constraints.
• Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Monitor critical path activities and proactively address delays to maintain project momentum.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate seamless communication regarding project timelines, progress updates, and any necessary adjustments to the schedule.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, including schedule performance, variance analysis, and forecasted completion dates. Ensure all documentation complies with company and client standards.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all planning activities adhere to local regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards. Verify that project deliverables meet the specified requirements and contractual obligations.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry best practices in project planning and scheduling. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering industry. Experience in large-scale infrastructure, oil and gas, or government projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of project management software, particularly Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Familiarity with other planning tools and ERP systems is advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize project schedules.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to articulate technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, lead cross-functional initiatives, and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of Saudi Arabia’s regulatory environment, labor laws, and cultural nuances to ensure seamless project execution within the local context.
