Position Overview

As a Junior Front-End Developer at PULSE (MENA), you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications and user interfaces. Collaborating closely with seasoned developers, designers, and product teams, you will contribute to the creation of responsive, accessible, and visually compelling digital experiences while honing your technical skills in a supportive environment. This role is perfectly suited for early-career professionals, recent graduates, or individuals with hands-on experience through internships, freelance projects, or personal initiatives who are eager to establish a strong foundation in front-end development.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

• Develop responsive, mobile-friendly web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to ensure seamless user experiences across devices.
• Assist in building reusable, modular UI components and interactive user interfaces that enhance functionality and maintainability.
• Translate UI/UX design mockups into clean, functional, and responsive web applications with a focus on usability and aesthetics.
• Optimize websites and applications for speed, performance, and usability to meet industry standards and user expectations.
• Test and maintain cross-browser and cross-device compatibility to ensure a consistent experience for all users.

Application Maintenance

• Debug and resolve front-end issues, performance bottlenecks, and usability challenges to enhance application reliability.
• Maintain and enhance existing web applications by implementing updates, improvements, and new features.
• Assist in the implementation of new functionalities while ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.
• Perform routine code updates, maintenance tasks, and documentation to uphold code quality and project integrity.

Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and product managers to deliver cohesive and high-quality digital solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to contribute to team productivity and continuous improvement.
• Engage in code reviews and team discussions to share insights, learn from peers, and uphold coding standards.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and technical solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Code Quality

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices and development standards.
• Follow version control procedures using Git to ensure seamless collaboration and code integrity.
• Participate in testing, quality assurance, and bug-fixing activities to deliver robust and reliable applications.
• Continuously refine coding skills through mentorship, feedback, and self-directed learning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in front-end development or web development, including internships, freelance projects, or academic work.
• Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and techniques.
• Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), with a strong grasp of core concepts and modern syntax.
• Basic experience with front-end frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular to build dynamic and interactive applications.
• Understanding of responsive CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS to streamline development and ensure consistency.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON for seamless data integration and communication between front-end and back-end systems.
• Knowledge of browser developer tools and debugging techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Awareness of responsive design principles, web accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing personal, academic, or portfolio web projects that demonstrate your technical and creative abilities.
• Familiarity with TypeScript to enhance code reliability and maintainability through static typing.
• Basic knowledge of state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or Pinia to manage application state effectively.
• Experience collaborating with design tools like Figma to translate design mockups into functional interfaces.
• Exposure to build tools such as Vite, Webpack, npm, or Yarn to optimize development workflows and project performance.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies to contribute to iterative and collaborative project execution.
