Position Overview

As a Junior Front-End Developer at PULSE (MENA), you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications and user interfaces. Collaborating closely with seasoned developers, designers, and product teams, you will assist in building responsive, accessible, and visually compelling digital experiences while honing your technical skills in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. This role is tailored for early-career professionals, recent graduates, or individuals with hands-on experience through internships, freelance projects, or personal initiatives, who are eager to launch their careers in front-end development.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

• Develop responsive and mobile-friendly web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, ensuring optimal performance and usability.
• Assist in the creation of reusable UI components and interactive user interfaces that enhance user engagement.
• Transform UI/UX design mockups into clean, functional, and responsive web applications.
• Optimize websites and applications for speed, performance, and cross-device compatibility.
• Test and validate front-end solutions across modern browsers and devices to ensure seamless functionality.

Application Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve front-end issues, performance bottlenecks, and usability challenges.
• Maintain and enhance existing web applications to meet evolving business and user requirements.
• Support the implementation of new features and enhancements to improve overall user experience.
• Perform routine code updates, maintenance tasks, and documentation to ensure long-term stability.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work collaboratively with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and product managers to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to contribute to team productivity and continuous improvement.
• Engage in code reviews and technical discussions to foster knowledge sharing and maintain high coding standards.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and technical solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Code Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices and development standards.
• Follow version control procedures using Git to ensure efficient collaboration and code management.
• Participate in testing, quality assurance, and bug-fixing activities to uphold product reliability and performance.
• Commit to continuous learning by staying updated with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
• Engage in technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance your skills and contribute to team growth.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of hands-on experience in front-end development or web development.
• Internship, freelance, academic, or personal project experience in front-end development is highly encouraged.
• Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with Git version control systems.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Basic experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Working knowledge of responsive CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON for seamless data integration.
• Basic familiarity with browser developer tools and front-end debugging techniques.
• Awareness of web accessibility standards, responsive design principles, and cross-browser compatibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing personal, academic, or portfolio web projects.
• Familiarity with TypeScript for enhanced code quality and maintainability.
• Basic knowledge of state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or Pinia.
• Experience collaborating with design tools like Figma to implement UI/UX designs accurately.
• Exposure to build tools and package managers such as Vite, Webpack, npm, or Yarn.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies and their practical application.
