Assistant Manager Production – Plastics & Packaging

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager Production – Plastics & Packaging to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in overseeing and optimizing our production processes within the plastics and packaging division. Your leadership and technical expertise will be instrumental in ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Oversight: Supervise daily production operations to ensure adherence to schedules, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols. Monitor workflows, resource allocation, and equipment performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team productivity.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce stringent quality control measures to guarantee that all plastics and packaging products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Process Optimization: Analyze production data, workflows, and equipment utilization to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and waste minimization. Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a safety-first culture by conducting regular audits, training sessions, and risk assessments to mitigate workplace hazards.
• Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure that machinery and equipment are well-maintained, calibrated, and operating at optimal levels to minimize downtime.
• Supply Chain Collaboration: Partner with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to streamline material flow, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed production reports, performance metrics, and KPI dashboards for senior management. Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality incidents, and corrective actions taken.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in production management, preferably within the plastics or packaging industry. Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and packaging technologies. Familiarity with ERP systems, production planning software, and data analytics tools is advantageous.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and drive organizational change. Proficiency in Arabic and English is required.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ISO standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance requirements relevant to the plastics and packaging industry.
