Performance Insight Sr. Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Insight Senior Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization by developing, automating, and optimizing business intelligence (BI) reports, dashboards, and advanced analytics solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing performance tracking, ensuring data integrity, and supporting strategic initiatives through insightful reporting and data mining. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in BI architecture, data governance, and project management, with a proven ability to mentor and lead a team of analysts while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Policies, Processes & Procedures

You will ensure adherence to all departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to maintain a controlled and consistent workflow. By following established guidelines, you will contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our performance management systems.

Day-to-Day Operations & Team Leadership

• Oversee the daily operations of the Performance Insight Analysts, providing clear direction and support to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
• Liaise regularly with other Centers of Excellence (CoE) workstreams, external partners, and the Planning and Control Department to identify opportunities for enhancing existing reports and dashboards.

Business Intelligence Analysis & Reporting

• Develop and automate the production and publication of standardized, approved reports for business units, ensuring alignment with information management principles and reporting best practices.
• Collaborate with the Planning and Control Department and external teams to gather necessary data, generate insightful reports, and create dynamic dashboards that accurately reflect key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
• Supervise the creation of ad-hoc reports by providing guidance on data requirements, defining reporting specifications, and identifying areas for metric improvement.
• Ensure that all regular and ad-hoc reports are designed with the end business goals in mind, delivering actionable insights that drive performance.

Advanced Analytics & Data Mining

• Develop and maintain robust data mining models and enterprise data warehouse (EDW) marts to support strategic business decisions.
• Conduct statistical analyses to define and support the business units’ strategic requirements, uncovering trends and opportunities for optimization.

BI Architecture & Information Governance

• Maintain the EDW, data mart architecture, design, and data model to provide optimal support for business intelligence and reporting needs across the organization.
• Document and publish information about the EDW and its associated data marts, including structure and data models, to ensure transparency and accessibility for stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues—such as uniqueness, integrity, and completeness—in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with data management policies and procedures.
• Utilize data profiling and quality tools to diagnose root causes of data discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Change & Project Management

• Apply project management best practices to efficiently supervise the Performance Insight Analysts and support internal business intelligence initiatives.
• Monitor BIM processes to ensure alignment with service level agreements (SLAs) and inform IT of any deviations or required adjustments.
• Document and track business requirements received from BIM to recommend timely solutions and ensure prompt resolution.
• Facilitate the completion of business requirements with proper documentation and publication of results to maintain accountability and transparency.

Communication & Knowledge Transfer

• Mentor and coach Performance Insight Analysts, conducting regular knowledge transfer sessions to enhance their skills and performance.
• Support analysts in overcoming challenges and blockers in their daily activities, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Engage with business unit representatives to understand their strategic objectives, requirements, and reporting needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with IT to keep them informed of changes in business requirements, data, and systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Work with BIM-defined processes to capture, document, publish, and communicate BI reporting in accordance with industry best practices.

Continuous Improvement

Proactively identify areas for improvement in reporting procedures, data acquisition processes, and report presentation. Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall impact of BI solutions on business performance.
