Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Coordinator to join our esteemed Quality Department. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in driving quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence across our healthcare organization. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance patient safety, streamline processes, and maintain accreditation through rigorous quality management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Improvement Leadership: Coordinate and support the execution of hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices in healthcare quality management.
- Data Monitoring and Reporting: Systematically monitor quality indicators, compile performance data, and generate comprehensive reports for leadership review. Your insights will drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation: Assist in preparing for accreditation surveys, conducting internal audits, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions: Facilitate the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans in collaboration with department leaders. Monitor progress and verify the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives to sustain long-term enhancements.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the Quality Department and other hospital departments, promoting a unified approach to quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Management, Nursing, or a closely related field is required.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in healthcare quality, accreditation, compliance, or a related discipline is essential. Prior experience within a hospital or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and Skills: A solid understanding of healthcare accreditation standards (such as Joint Commission, DNV, or other recognized bodies) and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA) is advantageous. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are imperative for success in this role.
- Certifications: While not mandatory, certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar credentials are considered a plus.
