About the Role
As ARX expands its footprint in the Middle East with offices in the UAE and KSA, we are seeking a highly skilled ICT & ELV Engineer to join our team for projects in Riyadh, Makkah, and Madinah. This is a full-time, permanent position (100%, m/f) designed for professionals with extensive experience in the construction-stage engineering management of large-scale hospitality and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical understanding of ICT and ELV systems, including structured cabling, active networks, CCTV, access control, public address and voice alarm systems, IPTV/SMATV, audio-visual systems, intercom, BMS interfaces, GRMS, and security systems. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with a track record of reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, calculations, and RFIs while effectively coordinating with consultants, contractors, hotel operators, and specialist system integrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Review and Coordination: Evaluate IFB and IFC ICT and ELV drawings to identify discrepancies, design changes, and potential construction impacts. Prepare or coordinate RFIs and technical clarifications to ensure resolution and alignment with project requirements.
- Submittal Evaluation: Review shop drawings, system architecture, network topology, technical calculations, material submittals, and method statements for structured cabling, fiber optics, active networks, Wi-Fi, CCTV, access control, PA/VA, IPTV/SMATV, AV, intercom, and security systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Hotel-Specific Systems: Assess hotel-specific systems and interfaces, including GRMS, guest-room controls, door-locking systems, telephony, IPTV, Wi-Fi, and property-management-system interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Infrastructure and Compliance: Review equipment-room layouts, rack layouts, containment routes, storage calculations, coverage studies, and interface-control documentation to verify compliance with project requirements, Saudi Building Code, authority regulations, cybersecurity protocols, and applicable IEC, ISO, TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NFPA standards.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate ICT and ELV interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, BMS, fire and life safety, interior design, security, and other specialist disciplines to ensure cohesive system integration.
- BIM and Clash Resolution: Support BIM coordination efforts, resolve clashes, and facilitate multidisciplinary system integration. Follow up on consultant, vendor, and system-integrator comments until submissions are approved and issues are resolved.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with contractors, consultants, hotel operators, IT teams, security consultants, vendors, and system integrators to address construction-stage technical challenges and ensure project objectives are met.
- Procurement and Testing Support: Assist in the evaluation of technical proposals, specialist RFPs, equipment selections, and vendor submissions to ensure functionality, interoperability, resilience, and adherence to project requirements. Support procurement, factory and site acceptance testing, point-to-point testing, integrated-system testing, and operational readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA) are advantageous.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in ICT and ELV systems, with a focus on large-scale hospitality and mixed-use developments, preferably in the Middle East.
- Strong technical knowledge of structured cabling, active networks, CCTV, access control, public address and voice alarm systems, IPTV/SMATV, audio-visual systems, intercom, BMS interfaces, GRMS, and security systems.
- Proven experience in reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, calculations, and RFIs, with a keen eye for detail and compliance.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and hotel operators.
- Proficiency in BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and familiarity with industry standards and codes, including Saudi Building Code, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable IEC, ISO, TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NFPA standards.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills, particularly Arabic, are a plus.
