Warehouse Supervisor

Position Overview

Sealy Mattress Middle East, a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium mattresses and sleep solutions, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations in Jeddah. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining workplace safety, and leading a team of warehouse staff to meet operational targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to optimize warehouse processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to ensure high performance, adherence to company policies, and a positive work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
• Inventory Management: Oversee the accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory, ensuring compliance with company standards and minimizing discrepancies. Implement and maintain efficient inventory control systems, including cycle counts and audits, to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste.
• Operational Efficiency: Streamline warehouse processes to improve order fulfillment speed, accuracy, and overall productivity. Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to align warehouse operations with supply chain objectives and customer demands.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations to create a secure workplace. Conduct regular safety training sessions, risk assessments, and inspections to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor the condition of incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet Sealy’s high-quality standards. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Technology and Reporting: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other digital tools to track inventory, generate reports, and analyze performance metrics. Provide data-driven insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
• Customer Service: Act as a liaison between the warehouse team and other departments to resolve operational challenges and ensure seamless order processing. Address customer inquiries related to shipments and deliveries in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Alternatively, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive warehouse management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in the mattress or furniture industry is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Familiarity with barcode scanning and RFID technology is a plus.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills to foster collaboration and resolve workplace issues.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Certifications: Valid forklift operator certification and any relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, ISO) are advantageous.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a strong asset.

Work Environment

This position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Warehouse Supervisor will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet operational demands. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
