Position Overview

The University of New Haven-Riyadh is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our adjunct faculty team as an Adjunct Faculty member specializing in Accounting. Key Responsibilities

As an Adjunct Faculty member in Accounting, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Instruction and Curriculum Delivery: Teach undergraduate or graduate-level accounting courses, ensuring that course content is current, relevant, and aligned with professional accounting standards. This includes preparing and delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and assessing student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
• Student Engagement and Mentorship: Foster an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and professional growth. Provide mentorship and guidance to students, assisting them in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the accounting profession.
• Curriculum Development and Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting programs by reviewing and updating course materials, incorporating emerging trends in accounting practices, and integrating technology-enhanced learning tools where applicable.
• Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student progress through rigorous assessment methods, including grading assignments, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student performance. Ensure transparency and fairness in all evaluation processes.
• Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in the accounting field, including regulatory changes, technological advancements, and best practices. Participate in faculty development programs and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methodologies and program outcomes.
• Industry Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong connections with the accounting and finance industry to ensure that program content remains relevant and responsive to market demands. This may include engaging with professionals, participating in advisory boards, or facilitating internship and networking opportunities for students.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of a master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A doctoral degree or professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, or financial management is essential. Experience in academia, teaching, or corporate training is a plus.
• Teaching Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex accounting concepts in an engaging and accessible manner. Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates with extensive industry experience.
• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom is highly valued.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
