Electrical Engineer - Technical Office ( Residential Projects )

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Office team at Alomar Holding Company, based in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems for residential projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable electrical solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Prepare detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for residential projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and communication networks. Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP to create accurate and efficient designs.
• Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender documents. Ensure all documentation adheres to local and international codes, such as NEC, IEC, and Saudi Building Code.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams, and contractors to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs. Participate in regular site meetings and provide technical guidance to ensure smooth project execution.
• Compliance and Safety: Conduct thorough reviews of electrical designs to ensure compliance with safety standards, energy efficiency guidelines, and environmental regulations. Implement best practices for fire safety, surge protection, and grounding systems to mitigate risks and enhance operational reliability.
• Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Assist in preparing cost estimates, material procurement plans, and budget forecasts for electrical components. Analyze project requirements to optimize resource allocation and minimize unnecessary expenditures while maintaining quality standards.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Explore opportunities to incorporate energy-efficient solutions, renewable energy systems (e.g., solar power), and smart technologies into residential projects. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering to propose cutting-edge solutions that align with sustainability goals.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges and discrepancies during the design, construction, and commissioning phases. Provide timely solutions to ensure project milestones are met without compromising on quality or safety.
• Regulatory Submissions: Prepare and submit electrical designs and related documents to regulatory authorities for approval. Liaise with government agencies and third-party inspectors to facilitate smooth approval processes and address any queries or concerns.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, or CIBSE) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on residential projects. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar), as well as MS Office Suite. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC, IEC, and Saudi Building Code.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is desirable but not required.
