Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for a range of technical duties to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of mechanical systems. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, compressors, and turbines, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve mechanical issues through systematic troubleshooting, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical expertise to minimize downtime and prevent failures.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues, reduce equipment wear, and extend the lifespan of critical assets.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Prepare detailed reports to support audits and performance reviews.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards to ensure a secure and compliant workplace. Participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness among colleagues.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technical teams to support project execution, commissioning of new equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians where required.
• Equipment Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical systems, ensuring they meet operational specifications and performance criteria.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
• Educational Background: A diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Additional vocational training or apprenticeships in mechanical technology are highly desirable.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within the energy, water, or industrial sectors, preferably in a similar environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with CAD software and blueprint reading is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment.
