About the Role
The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data while driving strategic decision-making across the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing internal and external financial reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, as well as generating sales reports tailored to both internal stakeholders and Group requirements. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including the analysis of trade and promotional investments across products and customers, active participation in month-end closing activities, and meticulous reporting of trade programs and accruals. Additionally, the Financial Controller supports budget and forecast preparation, manages documentation workflows, and contributes to audit processes in strict alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Forecasting
In this capacity, the Financial Controller will actively support the financial planning cycle by contributing to the preparation of the annual budget in accordance with company objectives and established guidelines. Collaboration with internal departments and stakeholders is essential to consolidate inputs, ensuring that financial plans are both accurate and aligned with overarching business priorities. The role also involves continuously updating forecasts based on performance metrics, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
The Financial Controller will oversee monthly reporting activities, guaranteeing the timely and accurate delivery of financial data. This includes conducting in-depth analysis of performance across brands, SKUs, customers, and business lines, evaluating results against budgetary targets, and identifying key drivers of financial outcomes. Additionally, the role will manage the month-end closing process, ensuring strict adherence to timelines and maintaining high standards of data accuracy and consistency.
Profitability and Investment Analysis
This position will support business decision-making through comprehensive financial evaluations, including the analysis of new products, customer initiatives, and channel performance. The Financial Controller will assess the return on investment for trade and promotional activities, ensuring effective resource allocation and alignment with profitability objectives to maximize business impact.
Financial Accounting and Control
The Financial Controller will support trade program accruals, prepare adjusting entries, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role will also contribute to cost-center analysis and allocation, ensuring precise financial tracking and reporting across the organization to maintain transparency and accountability.
Audit and Compliance
In this capacity, the Financial Controller will support the preparation of documentation for both internal and external audits, ensuring that financial processes are fully compliant with local regulations and Group standards. The role will contribute to the successful completion of audit activities, fostering a culture of accountability and adherence to best practices.
Controlling and Performance Monitoring
The Financial Controller will analyze trade programs and the performance of customers and channels, with a focus on top-line growth and gross margin evolution. This role will identify variances, provide clear explanations for deviations, and deliver actionable insights to support management decision-making, ultimately driving business performance and operational excellence.
About You
- 3–5 years of experience in Financial Controlling, with a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within the FMCG sector.
- A robust analytical mindset, capable of managing complex data sets, evaluating performance metrics, and supporting informed business decision-making.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and financial performance analysis, with proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- A collaborative and detail-oriented professional, adept at working across teams and managing priorities effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
