Campus & Community Engagement Specialist (Saudi Arabia)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Campus & Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This role is pivotal in driving communication excellence across campus and community initiatives, ensuring alignment with KAUST and Campus & Community (C&C) standards. The successful candidate will play a key part in developing and executing targeted communication campaigns, crafting compelling content, and maintaining a consistent brand voice across all digital and print channels. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while growing into broader leadership responsibilities within the communication domain.

Key Responsibilities

The Campus & Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Campaign Development & Execution: Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of targeted communication and engagement campaigns tailored to specific audiences and channels. Ensure campaigns are executed in alignment with strategic objectives and brand guidelines.
• Content Creation & Management: Draft clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate copy, including content briefs, executive summaries, and campaign updates. Publish approved announcements and maintain assigned sections of the C&C website using CMS platforms to ensure up-to-date and relevant information.
• Digital & Social Media Support: Create, schedule, and publish approved content across social media platforms while monitoring basic performance metrics to assess engagement and effectiveness. Collaborate with the team to optimize content strategies based on data insights.
• Visual & Multimedia Content: Support the creation of key visuals, layouts, and multimedia assets using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Ensure all visual content adheres to brand guidelines and enhances the impact of communication materials.
• Brand Consistency & Quality Assurance: Uphold strict consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all materials, ensuring full compliance with KAUST and C&C branding standards. Conduct rigorous proofreading, fact-checking, and quality control to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise directly with internal stakeholders, including proponents, Global Business Consultants (GBC), and external service partners to clarify objectives, timelines, and audience needs. Translate technical updates into clear, accessible messages for diverse audiences.
• Operational Support & Leadership: Provide day-to-day operational support to the engagement team, including managing personal deliverables, adhering to approval workflows, and maintaining transparent task visibility through project tracking software. Demonstrate the ability to step up and lead select activities during periods of absence, showcasing leadership potential and adaptability.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Copywriting, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, copywriting, or corporate communications, with a proven track record in engagement and communication strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with website publishing via CMS platforms and social media scheduling and analytics tools. Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms, with preferred experience in photography and video editing.
• Communication & Editorial Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with an unwavering commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and clarity. Strong editorial judgment to identify content risks, gaps in approvals, or issues requiring immediate escalation.
• Organizational & Time Management: Proven ability to remain highly organized, manage multiple strict deadlines, and deliver tasks with reliability and precision. Capable of working independently on defined tasks while following appropriate guidance and escalating issues as needed.
• Collaboration & Professionalism: Demonstrated capacity to coordinate routine matters with cross-functional internal teams, service partners, and external stakeholders. Professional confidence in representing the team and maintaining strong working relationships across diverse groups.
