Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The Senior Accountant is a critical role responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls in compliance with IFRS and Saudi regulations. This hands-on position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in inventory and cost accounting, financial reporting, VAT/e-invoicing compliance, and ERP systems within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the General Ledger and ensure accurate, timely recording of financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage inventory accounting, physical/perpetual inventory reconciliations, and product costing.
• Monitor production costs and inventory valuation; investigate and explain variances.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with ZATCA requirements.
• Ensure invoicing processes comply with ZATCA e-invoicing (Fatoora) regulations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS, and internal control standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Provide cost and margin analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Act as primary finance liaison to the CEO on financial performance, cash position, and risk items.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
• Review accounting entries and provide guidance to junior finance team members.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and ERP systems (Odoo preferred).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field.
• Must hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from a recognized professional accounting body.
• Minimum 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in agriculture or food production is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, VAT, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems; Odoo ERP experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
