Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of occupational health, safety, and environmental management. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing systems that comply with SAMA safety and security directives, as well as international standards such as ISO. Your expertise will ensure a secure and compliant workplace, minimizing risks to employees, contractors, and customers while fostering a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding our operations by fulfilling the following responsibilities:

• System Implementation and Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems that adhere to SAMA safety directives, ISO standards, and the Saudi Labour Law (Royal Decree M/51), particularly Chapter 8 on OH&S requirements.
• Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive workplace hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and control measures in alignment with ISO 31000 standards to proactively mitigate potential risks.
• Training and Development: Organize and oversee annual fire warden training, first aid certification programs, and other safety-related initiatives to ensure all personnel are prepared for emergencies.
• Regulatory Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit SBC 801 safety reports to AESA, including assessments for installations and commissioning activities. Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, equipment maintenance, and training compliance.
• Emergency Preparedness: Lead emergency response efforts for safety or environmental incidents, ensuring swift and effective action to protect personnel and assets.
• Policy Development and Review: Draft, implement, and continuously review the organization’s holistic Health and Safety policy to uphold a safe and secure working environment, in accordance with Directive p438.
• Equipment and System Oversight: Conduct regular reviews of business operations, safety systems, alarms, and detectors. Ensure the maintenance of critical safety equipment, including AEDs, first aid kits, fire safety systems, and emergency response tools.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with leadership, employees, and contractors to promote safety awareness, provide guidance, and enforce compliance with health and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A recognized qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma, or an equivalent certification.
• Professional Experience: Proven track record in a Health and Safety Manager role within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with hands-on experience in implementing safety systems, conducting risk assessments, and managing emergency responses.
• Specialized Training: Certification in fire safety management, demonstrating expertise in fire prevention, response, and training methodologies.
• Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SAMA directives, ISO standards, and Saudi Labour Law requirements, particularly Chapter 8 on OH&S.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in assessing and reporting safety-related data, maintaining documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all operational activities.
