Road Engineer – Infrastructure Development Specialist

In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of road infrastructure projects across the Kingdom. Key Responsibilities

As a Road Engineer, your core responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and project management tasks, including:

• Project Planning and Feasibility Studies: Conduct thorough assessments of proposed road projects, evaluating technical feasibility, environmental impact, and economic viability to ensure alignment with client and regulatory requirements.
• Design and Engineering: Develop detailed road design plans, including alignment, cross-sections, drainage systems, and pavement structures, utilizing industry-leading software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM 360, or similar tools.
• Construction Supervision: Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and project timelines. Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and mitigate risks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all road designs and construction activities comply with local, national, and international standards, including Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives, Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services (MOTLS) regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Budget and Resource Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor expenditures to deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
• Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, progress updates, and as-built drawings for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of project data and deliverables.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable engineering practices, such as low-impact development, recycled materials, and energy-efficient designs, to minimize environmental footprint and promote long-term infrastructure resilience.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., P.Eng.) is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in road engineering, with a proven track record in design, construction, or project management. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is a strong asset.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of road design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, MX Road), traffic engineering principles, and pavement design methodologies. Familiarity with GIS and BIM tools is advantageous.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi Arabian road construction standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, including OSHA and ISO certifications.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholders effectively, and lead projects with a results-driven mindset.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
