In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in the planning, design, and execution of road and highway infrastructure projects that drive the nation’s development and connectivity. As a Senior Road Engineer, you will lead technical teams, ensure project compliance with international standards, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance road safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of road and highway projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Provide specialized knowledge in road geometry, pavement design, drainage systems, traffic engineering, and road safety measures to optimize project outcomes.
• Team Collaboration: Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project deliverables adhere to local and international codes, including AASHTO, Saudi Road Standards (SRS), and environmental regulations, while maintaining high-quality assurance standards.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery without compromising quality or safety.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison with clients, government authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and address any technical or operational challenges.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Integrate cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices into road design and construction, such as intelligent transportation systems (ITS), recycled materials, and low-carbon solutions, to support Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential project risks, including geotechnical challenges, traffic disruptions, or environmental impacts, and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering or Highway Engineering is highly desirable.
• Professional Certification: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) is preferred. Certification in road safety audits or traffic engineering will be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in road and highway engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects in the Middle East or similar regions is highly beneficial.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads, MicroStation, and traffic simulation tools (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro). Strong knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodologies is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
