Assistant Manager - Technology Procurement

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Manager - Technology Procurement to oversee the full procurement lifecycle for technology-related goods and services. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and secure IT solutions that align with business objectives while ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and supplier excellence. Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager - Technology Procurement will be responsible for the following core functions:

• End-to-End Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement lifecycle for IT hardware, software, cloud services, telecommunications, and professional services, ensuring seamless execution from sourcing to contract execution.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units to assess procurement needs, develop tailored sourcing strategies, and align technology acquisitions with organizational goals.
• Sourcing and Bid Management: Lead the preparation and execution of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), including bid evaluations and supplier selection processes.
• Commercial Negotiation: Conduct high-impact negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and optimal contractual conditions that mitigate risk and maximize value.
• Contract and Compliance Oversight: Coordinate contract reviews with Legal, Finance, and other departments to ensure adherence to company policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with strategic technology vendors, monitoring performance against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
• Cost Optimization and Innovation: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and value creation through market analysis, spend benchmarking, and supplier innovation.
• Financial and Budgetary Support: Collaborate with Finance to manage purchase orders, resolve invoice discrepancies, track budget adherence, and provide procurement-related reporting and insights.
• Market and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of technology market trends, emerging licensing models, and supplier innovations to inform strategic procurement decisions and future-proof the organization’s technology investments.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, or IT vendor management, with a proven track record in procuring software, hardware, cloud services, SaaS, cybersecurity solutions, and IT professional services.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of procurement methodologies, contract management best practices, and sourcing strategies, including hands-on experience with RFP/RFQ processes and commercial negotiations.
• Industry Insight: Strong understanding of software licensing models, cloud procurement, and IT market dynamics, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable procurement strategies.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical acumen, negotiation prowess, and stakeholder management capabilities, coupled with outstanding communication and presentation skills to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Technical Tools: Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Oracle, or Coupa is highly desirable.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or CSCP are considered a significant advantage.
