Strategy and PMO Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Strategy and PMO Director to lead our organization’s strategic initiatives and project management office (PMO) with excellence. Key Responsibilities

The Strategy and PMO Director will oversee a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including:

Lead quarterly strategic review sessions with senior leadership to assess progress, evaluate outcomes, and recommend data-driven adjustments to optimize performance.
• PMO Governance and Delivery: Establish and maintain robust PMO governance structures to oversee the successful delivery of projects across the enterprise. Implement industry-leading methodologies and frameworks—such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall—to enhance project execution, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between business units, executive leadership, and project teams to foster seamless communication and collaboration. Identify operational inefficiencies and translate strategic objectives into actionable, measurable plans that drive tangible results.
• Performance Monitoring and Accountability: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to evaluate project outcomes and guide strategic decision-making. Prepare comprehensive reports for the executive team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Change Management and Innovation: Lead transformational initiatives by applying change management principles to drive adoption across diverse teams. Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance project outcomes and organizational resilience.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, project sponsors, and cross-functional teams. Actively manage expectations, solicit feedback, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle to maximize engagement and support.
• Financial and Risk Management: Leverage financial acumen to develop and manage budgets, assess financial risks, and ensure a strong return on investment (ROI) for strategic initiatives. Implement robust risk management strategies to identify potential challenges and proactively mitigate their impact on project delivery.
• Talent Development: Mentor and develop junior project managers and team members within the PMO, fostering a high-performing culture that prioritizes accountability, transparency, and professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education and Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic management, program management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. Proven success in leading high-impact strategic initiatives and managing complex, multi-departmental projects.
• Strategic and Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and organizational data to inform strategic decisions. Strong financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, financial risk assessment, and ROI analysis.
• Project Management Expertise: Deep proficiency in project management methodologies, with hands-on experience implementing Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid frameworks. A track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated leadership in driving organizational change, fostering collaboration, and communicating complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences. High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to navigate stakeholder relationships and build consensus.
• Risk and Compliance: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure project success. Familiarity with compliance frameworks and governance standards relevant to the organization’s industry.
