Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Marketing, Revenue Management, and Operations to ensure seamless alignment of sales initiatives with broader business goals. Participate in strategic planning sessions, budget reviews, and forecasting exercises to contribute to the overall success of the property.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs within the sales team and coordinate with the Learning and Development department to deliver targeted programs that enhance product knowledge, negotiation skills, and sales techniques. Stay updated on industry best practices and Marriott’s proprietary sales tools to ensure the team remains competitive.
  • Compliance and Brand Standards: Uphold Marriott International’s brand standards, ethical guidelines, and compliance requirements in all sales activities. Ensure that all transactions and client interactions adhere to company policies and local regulations, maintaining the integrity and reputation of the brand.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Hotel Sales Executive) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Prior experience in luxury or upscale hotel environments is highly desirable.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, with a deep understanding of revenue management principles, negotiation techniques, and strategic account planning. Experience in managing corporate, group, and leisure sales segments is essential.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Strong presentation and public speaking abilities are required to effectively engage with clients, senior leadership, and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Proficiency in using sales and revenue management software, such as Opera PMS, Salesforce, or similar CRM tools. Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Cultural Competency: Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment, with fluency in English and Arabic (written and verbal) being highly advantageous. Sensitivity to diverse cultural norms and business practices is critical for success in Jeddah’s dynamic market.
