Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by performing a wide range of duties, including:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate transactions while optimizing cash flow.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations, while identifying opportunities for tax optimization.
• Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and performance reviews to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and senior management, to align financial strategies with business objectives.
• System & Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and software to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or industrial environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, and macros) and familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data to provide actionable insights.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ethics & Integrity: A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics, confidentiality, and accuracy in all financial dealings.
• Language: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
