Position Overview
The Supply Chain Lead for Roche Diagnostics Saudi Arabia is a strategic and influential role within the Saudi Arabia Leadership Team (SALT) and the Middle East Supply Chain Leadership Team. This position is designed to drive commercial value, enhance customer loyalty, and strengthen organizational resilience by shaping the end-to-end supply chain model. As a key business partner, you will not only oversee traditional supply chain operations but also lead the strategic agenda for SALT and your leadership team, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics to align regional objectives with a unified vision.
Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Strategic Influence and Collaboration: Actively contribute to and influence decision-making forums, building coalitions and consensus to drive initiatives in a matrixed environment. Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with diplomacy, balancing conflicting interests while translating organizational risks and constraints into strategic influence.
- Supply Chain Strategy and Operations: Plan and implement the in-country supply chain strategy in alignment with regional and global goals. Collaborate with internal teams, chapters, and networks to optimize supply chain performance. Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs to ensure operational excellence.
- Inventory and 3PL Management: Liaise with the integrated planning team to optimize inventory levels for spare parts, instruments, and reagents. Manage third-party logistics (3PL) supply chain activities to ensure timely and efficient operations. Develop and monitor 3PL performance to meet Roche’s stringent quality standards.
- Digital Transformation and Automation: Collaborate on automation and digitalization projects with the digital solutions and consultancy team to enhance supply chain efficiency and accuracy.
- Order Management and Warehousing: Lead the order management and warehousing teams to ensure seamless operations and on-time deliveries. Coordinate inbound, outbound, and returns processes with 3PL partners to maintain operational integrity.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Analyze customer feedback to develop actionable improvement plans. Resolve customer issues efficiently while exceeding expectations. Build and maintain positive customer relationships through active listening, empathy, and clear communication.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Roche’s ethical standards. Participate in warehouse quality audits and certification processes to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.
- Team Leadership and Development: Create a motivating environment that attracts, engages, and retains top talent. Hire, develop, and manage employees and third-party partners responsible for local operations. Delegate tasks effectively, foster team decision-making, and promote open communication. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and individual development plans to drive employee growth and performance.
Your Profile
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: Hold a BSc or MSc degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, with at least 5 to 8 years in a leadership position. Proven expertise in Supply Chain governance and a strong network within internal and external Supply Chain communities are essential.
- Technical and Strategic Skills: Combine deep technical knowledge in warehousing, 3PL management, Supply Chain Quality Standards, and Saudi regulations with an entrepreneurial mindset. Translate complex data into high-impact, commercial recommendations that drive business growth.
- Leadership and People Management: Exhibit extensive experience in people management, including performance management and employee development, to build and lead high-performing teams.
