Key Responsibilities

The Senior Tunnel Construction Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Project Leadership: Leading and supervising tunnel construction teams, including engineers, technicians, and laborers, to ensure seamless project execution in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
• Technical Oversight: Providing expert guidance on tunnel construction methodologies, including drilling, blasting, excavation, and support systems, to optimize performance and mitigate risks.
• Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring quality control processes to ensure compliance with international standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Safety Management: Enforcing stringent safety protocols and conducting regular site inspections to identify and address potential hazards, thereby maintaining a secure work environment for all personnel.
• Budget and Schedule Control: Collaborating with project managers to develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as a liaison between the construction team, clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to facilitate clear communication and resolve any project-related issues promptly.
• Innovation and Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, technological advancements, and cost-saving measures to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Tunnel Engineering is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tunnel construction, with at least 5 years in a senior or supervisory role. Prior involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in challenging geological conditions, is essential.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in tunnel construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools) and a strong understanding of geotechnical analysis, structural design, and construction methodologies.
• Certifications: Valid certifications in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) and project management (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
