Key Responsibilities

As a Planning Engineer at Parsons, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that contribute to the seamless execution of projects. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Project Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure schedules are aligned with project milestones, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
• Resource Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment. Monitor resource utilization to prevent bottlenecks and ensure optimal productivity.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and constraints that may impact project timelines. Propose and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress against established baselines, providing accurate and timely reports to stakeholders. Highlight deviations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, and senior management to facilitate clear and concise communication regarding project timelines, risks, and deliverables. Ensure all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project documentation, including schedules, reports, and change orders, complies with company standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records for auditing and future reference.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a combination of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors. Experience with large-scale projects is preferred.
