Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team in Jiddah. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our payroll operations. The Payroll Officer will oversee the entire payroll lifecycle, from processing salaries and statutory contributions to maintaining meticulous records and reconciling financial data. This position requires a proactive individual capable of collaborating closely with HR and Finance departments to address payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and support audit processes. The ideal candidate will also contribute to process improvements, enhancing the precision and efficiency of our payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing and Accuracy: Prepare, process, and validate payroll for all employees, ensuring precise calculations of salaries, allowances, deductions, overtime, leave entitlements, and end-of-service benefits in strict compliance with employment contracts and local labor regulations.
- Statutory Compliance and Reporting: Manage payroll taxes and statutory contributions, ensuring adherence to Saudi labor and tax laws. Generate and submit accurate payroll reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Data Reconciliation and Audits: Reconcile payroll data with finance systems, verify account balances, and perform necessary adjustments. Coordinate with external auditors, providing supporting documentation and resolving queries related to payroll accounts.
- Financial Provisions and Journal Entries: Review and approve payroll-related financial provisions, including annual leave, end-of-service benefits, bonuses, and incentives, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and standards. Prepare monthly payroll accrual journal entries and ensure accurate posting to the accounting system.
- Employee Support and Coordination: Address employee payroll inquiries promptly and accurately. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to update employee records, resolve discrepancies, and facilitate smooth payroll operations.
- System and Process Optimization: Utilize advanced payroll systems and software to manage operations efficiently. Generate payroll reports, prepare bank transfer files, and troubleshoot system issues to enhance operational workflows.
- Financial Closing and Compliance: Supervise the monthly and annual financial closing process related to payroll and payroll provisions, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Nationality: Must be a Saudi national.
- Experience: Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within a corporate or financial services environment. Hands-on experience with payroll systems and software is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, statutory contributions, and accounting principles. Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly. Proficiency in both Arabic and English is advantageous.
