Key Responsibilities

The Accountant at UMC will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization while supporting its strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including:

• Conducting meticulous bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
• Overseeing petty cash management and employee advances to maintain financial discipline and transparency.
• Recording expenses and purchase transactions with precision to support the company’s financial reporting.
• Issuing sales invoices in a timely manner to facilitate smooth cash flow and revenue recognition.
• Actively participating in month-end closing activities to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
• Monitoring and maintaining comprehensive records of fixed assets to support depreciation calculations and asset management.
• Reviewing supporting documents and ensuring proper documentation and filing to meet regulatory and internal audit requirements.
• Preparing audit working papers and providing robust support during external and internal audits to uphold compliance and transparency.
• Ensuring adherence to tax obligations and ZATCA compliance requirements to mitigate risks and avoid penalties.
• Performing daily accounting activities to maintain up-to-date financial records and support decision-making processes.
• Collaborating closely with the Chief Accountant to execute operational accounting tasks and drive financial efficiency.
• Undertaking any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Accountant or Finance Manager to contribute to the overall success of the finance team.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Possessing a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the Construction, Operations & Maintenance industry, with a proven track record in financial management.
• Demonstrating proficiency in Odoo ERP, with the ability to leverage the system for efficient accounting processes.
• Exhibiting a strong understanding of tax regulations and ZATCA compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to local and international standards.
• Possessing excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear communication with stakeholders.
• Being a Saudi national to align with the company’s hiring policies and local regulations.
