Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Frontend Developer to join the Tendem project (https://tendem.ai/), where you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional landing pages and multi-page websites. As an AI Pilot—our designation for this position—you will collaborate with Tendem Agents, which automate repetitive tasks, while you provide the critical human touch required to elevate designs, refine code, and ensure pixel-perfect, conversion-ready websites that align with client specifications. This part-time, fully remote opportunity is tailored for professionals with a proven track record in frontend development, particularly in landing page production and modern web frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Create high-impact landing pages, waitlist pages, promo pages, and small multi-page websites (e.g., portfolios, restaurant sites, small business sites, and simple online stores) that adhere to client briefs and industry best practices.
• Responsive & Mobile-First Development: Implement layouts that prioritize responsiveness and mobile-first design principles, ensuring seamless performance across devices and browsers.
• Conversion Optimization: Develop clear hero sections, strategically placed CTAs, and conversion-focused layouts to maximize user engagement and lead generation.
• Integration & Functionality: Embed forms, email capture mechanisms, basic analytics tools, and simple CMS or headless content solutions to enhance user interaction and data tracking.
• SEO & Accessibility: Apply on-page SEO fundamentals, including semantic HTML, meta tags, performance optimization, and WCAG-compliant accessibility practices to ensure pages are search-engine friendly and inclusive.
• AI Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Evaluate AI-generated frontend outputs, refining markup, styling, structure, and copy placement to achieve production-grade quality.
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve layout inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks, and cross-browser compatibility issues with autonomy and precision.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in frontend development, landing page production, or website development, with a portfolio of shipped projects.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Design, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including responsive design techniques (Flexbox, Grid).
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, Astro, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with utility-first CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind) or component libraries.
  • Ability to translate Figma designs or written briefs into clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Knowledge of form handling, email capture services, and analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Plausible).
  • Understanding of on-page SEO, accessibility standards (WCAG basics), and Core Web Vitals.
  • Experience with simple CMSs or headless content platforms (e.g., Webflow, Framer, Sanity, Contentful) is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, a discerning visual taste, and the ability to deliver polished, intentional designs that stand out from generic templates. Strong self-motivation and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Language Proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher English language skills.

Project Commitment

For this freelance role, task estimates typically require 10-20 hours per week during active phases, though workloads may vary based on project demands. This is an indicative estimate and does not guarantee a fixed weekly commitment.
