Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Medicine - Palliative Medicine Consultant to join our esteemed healthcare team. Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Family Medicine - Palliative Medicine Consultant will be responsible for a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, including:

• Clinical Assessment and Documentation: Conduct thorough patient assessments, encompassing clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional evaluations. Document all findings meticulously in patients’ medical records to ensure continuity of care.
• Care Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans in accordance with established standards and document them in patients’ medical records. Ensure timely implementation of these plans and monitor progress closely.
• Inpatient Management: Serve as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under your care. Develop and document discharge plans on the day of admission, involving discharge-planning services early when necessary. Conduct daily patient assessments and document progress using the SOAP format to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Consultation and Intervention: Respond promptly to medical consultations and perform interventions with precision. Document all medical interventions in a timely manner to ensure transparency and accountability in patient care.
• Discharge and Follow-Up: Complete and authenticate discharge summaries for all patients under your care in a timely manner. Ensure patients receive clear discharge instructions and education on take-home medications prior to their departure.
• Facility and Departmental Engagement: Attend to duties at Fakeeh Health Care facilities and respond to calls as per the departmental or section call schedule. Participate actively in departmental and general staff meetings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Medical Reporting: Prepare medical reports for patients in adherence to Fakeeh Care’s standardized format and within specified timelines.
• Teaching and Education: Contribute to teaching rounds and educational activities as requested by the chairperson of the medical department. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to empower them in managing their care.

Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, adhere to safety protocols, and address job-related safety concerns proactively. Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and comply with Fakeeh Care’s code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Skills and Abilities:
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, physicians, and non-medical staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
• Experience: Completion of a recognized residency or fellowship in Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine within the field of specialty, as mandated by the regional health regulatory authority. Experience in a recognized medical center is required.
• Education: Board certification or fellowship in Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid license to practice as per the regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any applicable advanced certifications are mandatory.
