Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced BM Supervisor to oversee and manage the full spectrum of New Projects and Building Maintenance operations across our designated region. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the upkeep, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of all SACO premises and facilities, fostering an optimal environment for both customers and staff. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, meticulous execution, and rigorous monitoring of maintenance and construction projects, all while adhering to cost-effective, timely, and trustworthy standards. This position demands a proactive leader with exceptional project management, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The BM Supervisor will be entrusted with the following core duties and responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate in the preparation of comprehensive scope of works and cost studies for new projects within the assigned region. Supervise, coordinate, and monitor construction activities in alignment with project consultants, contractors, and directives from the Engineering Manager to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Building Maintenance Oversight: Lead, implement, and monitor region-wide building maintenance operations to uphold the highest standards of facility upkeep. This includes coordinating with store and premises managers to schedule regular inspections and address preventive and corrective maintenance needs promptly.
  • Emergency Response and Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for urgent building maintenance requests and emergency issues across the region. Organize and dispatch maintenance teams efficiently to resolve issues in a timely manner, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturer service providers, particularly for specialized equipment such as elevators and escalators. Ensure timely breakdown repairs, periodic maintenance, and verification of service quality. Additionally, evaluate, recommend, and engage qualified contractors and suppliers for construction and maintenance projects, as well as material procurement.
  • Financial and Administrative Duties: Prepare and submit CAPEX/OPEX requests, payment requisitions, petty cash expenses, travel expenses, overtime payments, and other documentary approvals in strict adherence to company policies and standard procedures. Maintain accurate records and ensure all expenditures are justified and reported appropriately.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Compile and present weekly, monthly, and year-end reports detailing staff evaluations, departmental expenses, and project accomplishments. Participate actively in scheduled meetings to provide updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Review and validate monthly timesheets for engineering staff within the region, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company guidelines. Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, and operational efficiency among the team.

Qualifications and Competencies

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a supervisory capacity, specifically in Projects or Building Maintenance Engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of drawing and planning software, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems such as SAP-CRM. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional customer service orientation, sales acumen, and strong supervisory, communication, and negotiation abilities. Demonstrated expertise in time management, planning, and resource allocation.
  • Additional Knowledge: In-depth understanding of contract management, cost engineering, innovation management, bid preparation, tendering processes, and quality control/assurance. Proven ability to coordinate resources effectively and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
