Position Overview

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is seeking highly motivated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors (MRICS / FRICS) to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at RLB, you will play a pivotal role in the financial and contractual management of projects from inception to completion. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Pre-Contract Duties:
    • Conducting detailed cost planning, feasibility studies, and value engineering to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
    • Preparing and evaluating tender documentation, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms to facilitate competitive bidding.
    • Advising clients and project teams on procurement strategies, contractual frameworks, and risk management to optimize project outcomes.
    • Leveraging your MRICS or FRICS accreditation to provide expert guidance on cost control, procurement methods, and contractual compliance.
  • Post-Contract Duties:
    • Managing and administering contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms, timelines, and financial parameters.
    • Overseeing interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts to maintain accurate financial records and resolve disputes efficiently.
    • Collaborating with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to monitor project progress, address variations, and mitigate financial risks.
    • Providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support informed decision-making and project delivery excellence.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
    • Mentoring junior quantity surveyors and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
    • Representing RLB in client meetings, negotiations, and industry forums to strengthen relationships and uphold the company’s reputation.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
  • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS), demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence and ethical standards.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in both pre- and post-contract environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Causeway, or similar tools).
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Middle Eastern construction markets and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
