Project engineer -Civil (SS)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer – Civil (SS) to join our dynamic team at Larsen & Toubro, based in Saudi Arabia. This role is pivotal in overseeing and executing civil engineering projects with a strong emphasis on structural steel (SS) components. Key Responsibilities

The Project Engineer – Civil (SS) will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Structural Steel Oversight: Lead the design, fabrication, and installation of structural steel components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and international standards such as AISC, Eurocodes, or local Saudi regulations.
• Team Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, contractors, and site engineers, to foster a cohesive working environment and achieve project milestones efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous inspections and quality checks to verify that all structural steel work meets the highest standards of durability, safety, and performance.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost overruns, or safety incidents throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, technical drawings, and compliance documentation, in accordance with Larsen & Toubro’s policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following competencies:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in structural engineering or steel construction preferred.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in civil engineering projects, with at least 3 years focused on structural steel design, fabrication, or installation.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000), CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit), and familiarity with BIM methodologies.
• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is a plus. Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or structural steel welding (e.g., AWS) are highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong leadership qualities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC), OSHA standards, and other relevant local and international regulations governing structural steel construction.
