Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Civil Architectural Inspector will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Quality Assurance and Control: Conduct thorough inspections of construction materials, workmanship, and structural components to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Identify and document deviations, defects, or non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs, measurements, and observations, to track project progress and maintain accurate records. Communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
• Code Compliance: Verify that all construction activities align with local, national, and international building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Site Coordination: Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to facilitate seamless project execution. Attend site meetings, review shop drawings, and provide technical guidance to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify potential hazards, safety concerns, or structural deficiencies, and implement measures to prevent accidents or delays. Work collaboratively with the safety team to enforce health and safety protocols on-site.
• Technical Support: Assist in the resolution of technical challenges by providing expert insights and recommendations. Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and feasibility.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Construction Inspector (CCI) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil architectural inspection, preferably within the construction or engineering sector. Prior experience in large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or residential projects is advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and structural systems. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools is preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex technical information to identify discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings and recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in English is essential; additional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Certifications: Valid certification as a Civil Inspector or Architectural Inspector from a recognized professional body is required. Holders of additional certifications in quality control, safety management, or project management are highly valued.
