Senior SQA Engineer (Manual)

Position Overview

CodeNinja, a dynamic and innovative technology company based in Riyadh, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQA Engineer (Manual) to join our growing Quality Assurance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of software quality through meticulous manual testing, comprehensive test case development, and rigorous defect tracking. Your expertise will play a critical role in delivering flawless software solutions that meet and exceed client expectations, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual Testing Leadership: Lead and execute manual testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, to identify software defects and ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Test Case Design & Execution: Develop detailed, well-structured test cases and test scenarios based on functional specifications, user stories, and technical documentation. Execute these test cases systematically to validate software functionality and performance.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using industry-standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla). Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and verify fixes through retesting and regression testing.
• Quality Assurance Process Improvement: Analyze testing methodologies, tools, and processes to recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall software quality. Stay updated with emerging QA trends and best practices to drive innovation within the team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure a shared understanding of quality objectives. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to foster a collaborative testing environment.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive test reports, including test execution summaries, defect metrics, and quality assessments. Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner to support informed decision-making.
• Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team. Conduct training sessions to enhance team capabilities in manual testing techniques and tools.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Agile Testing) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing, with a proven track record in designing and executing test cases for complex software systems. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of testing tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, or similar defect tracking systems. Familiarity with SQL for database testing and basic scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is beneficial.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify edge cases and potential risks in software functionality. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve testing challenges efficiently.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
