Fleet Supervisor

Position Overview

Salini Freight Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Supervisor to oversee and manage our fleet operations in Jeddah. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our vehicle fleet, optimizing fleet performance, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of fleet management principles, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Operations Management: Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle dispatch, routing, and scheduling to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries and services. Monitor fleet performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all vehicles are regularly inspected, serviced, and repaired to meet safety and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Driver Management: Supervise a team of drivers, providing training, performance evaluations, and guidance to ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Address any performance issues promptly and fairly.
• Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the fleet budget, including fuel, maintenance, and operational expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality or safety. Track and report on fleet-related expenditures regularly.
• Safety & Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with local and international regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and driver training sessions to promote a culture of safety within the fleet.
• Technology & Innovation: Leverage fleet management software and telematics systems to enhance operational efficiency, track vehicle performance, and improve decision-making. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement.
• Customer & Stakeholder Relations: Act as a liaison between the fleet department, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment of expectations. Address customer concerns related to fleet operations and service delivery promptly and professionally.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Fleet Manager) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in the freight or transportation industry is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in fleet management software, telematics systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing and motivating teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with drivers, management, and external stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions under pressure. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international regulations governing fleet operations, including vehicle safety, emissions, and driver hours of service.
