Job Overview

With operations spanning multiple manufacturing sites across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, Mattex serves over 50 countries worldwide. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing comprehensive production schedules to optimize manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless alignment between plant capacity, raw material availability, and customer delivery commitments. Your expertise will drive operational efficiency, enhance inventory control, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities
As the Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the balance between production demands and resource availability. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain a detailed master production schedule (MPS) based on confirmed sales orders and plant capacity. Ensure the timely release and closure of manufacturing work orders to consistently meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze plant capacity and resource availability, including labor, machinery, and materials, to optimize production flow. Proactively identify constraints and adjust schedules to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Material Coordination: Monitor raw material inventory levels in close collaboration with the procurement team. Initiate purchase requisitions and track supplier deliveries to guarantee uninterrupted material availability for production planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central liaison between operations, procurement, warehousing, and manufacturing teams. Facilitate regular meetings to address bottlenecks, align priorities, and ensure seamless execution of production plans.
- Inventory Optimization: Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials and finished goods. Implement strategic initiatives to reduce obsolete, slow-moving, or excess inventory while ensuring continuous production operations.
- Performance Reporting: Measure, analyze, and report on variances between actual production output and planned schedules. Track key performance indicators such as schedule adherence, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and production lead times. Provide data-driven insights to management to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- ERP System Management: Utilize ERP/MRP systems to generate work orders, production orders, and planning reports. Ensure data accuracy and system integrity to support informed decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in the textile, polymers, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with SAP experience being a significant advantage. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for data analysis, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Core Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of production planning methodologies, capacity planning, and manufacturing best practices.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex production data and derive actionable insights.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate effectively across multiple departments.
- Capacity to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet stringent deadlines.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
