Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise-grade backup and disaster recovery solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding our organization’s data integrity, ensuring uninterrupted business operations, and maintaining high availability across all critical IT environments. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:

• Solution Design & Implementation: Architect, deploy, and manage robust enterprise backup and recovery solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of our organization. Ensure these solutions align with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Strategy: Develop, refine, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans. These strategies must be designed to minimize downtime and ensure rapid restoration of services in the event of a disruption.
• Replication & High Availability: Configure and support advanced replication and high-availability solutions to enhance data redundancy and system resilience. Your work will be pivotal in maintaining seamless operations across distributed environments.
• Immutable Backup & Ransomware Protection: Implement cutting-edge immutable backup solutions and ransomware protection mechanisms to safeguard critical data against cyber threats and unauthorized alterations.
• Recovery Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous recovery testing to validate the effectiveness of disaster recovery plans. Ensure that all recovery procedures are thoroughly documented, tested, and optimized for performance.
• Backup Automation & Performance Optimization: Automate backup processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance overall system performance. Continuously monitor and optimize backup operations to meet evolving business demands.
• Storage Integration: Seamlessly integrate backup solutions with enterprise storage infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and maximizing data protection capabilities across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor backup environments, identify potential issues, and resolve them promptly to prevent data loss or service disruptions. Maintain detailed logs and reports to track system health and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals, compliance standards, and data availability requirements. Foster a collaborative environment to enhance data protection and operational resilience.

Required Technical Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess extensive experience in the following areas:

• Enterprise Backup Solutions: Hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and managing enterprise backup solutions for large-scale IT environments.
• Replication & Disaster Recovery: Proficiency in configuring and supporting replication technologies and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Business Continuity Planning: Expertise in developing and maintaining business continuity plans that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Immutable Backup & Ransomware Protection: Knowledge of immutable backup technologies and ransomware protection mechanisms to safeguard critical data.
• Backup Automation: Experience in automating backup processes to enhance efficiency, reduce human error, and improve system performance.
• Storage Integration: Familiarity with integrating backup solutions with enterprise storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage systems.
• Recovery Testing: Proven ability to perform recovery testing and validate disaster recovery readiness to ensure minimal downtime and data loss.

Additionally, experience with leading enterprise backup platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Dell EMC NetWorker, or Rubrik is highly preferred. Your technical expertise in these platforms will be a significant asset to our team.
