Planning Associate

Role Overview

As a Planning Associate, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of last-mile delivery operations by providing data-driven insights and strategic support to the planning team. This position requires a blend of analytical prowess, operational acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize delivery capacity, elevate service levels, and streamline processes. You will be responsible for monitoring performance metrics, identifying trends, and proposing actionable solutions to drive continuous improvement in operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Planning Support: Assist in the daily planning and execution of last-mile operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze operational data to uncover trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for enhancement. Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery success rates, resource utilization, productivity metrics, and SLA compliance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Workforce Management, and other teams to facilitate seamless planning and execution. Act as a liaison to ensure alignment between planning activities and on-ground operational realities.
• Demand Forecasting & Capacity Planning: Assist in forecasting order volumes and workforce requirements based on historical data and emerging trends. Provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation and mitigate potential bottlenecks.
• Process Optimization: Identify operational inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions to enhance service quality, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. Support process improvement initiatives through rigorous analysis and stakeholder engagement.
• Ad Hoc Analysis & Insights: Conduct specialized analyses to address business questions and provide actionable recommendations. Translate complex data into clear, concise insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Data Management & Accuracy: Maintain precise and up-to-date operational data to support accurate planning and decision-making. Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience in Planning, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a similar analytical role within a fast-paced environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate large datasets, create complex models, and generate insightful reports. Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is considered a strong asset.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and develop practical solutions to operational challenges. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams.
• Attention to Detail & Prioritization: Meticulous attention to detail combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a valuable addition to the role.
