Role Overview

The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in the execution and delivery of high-impact pumping system projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to overcome technical challenges and drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Execution: Assist in developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and estimates, while continuously monitoring progress against key milestones to ensure timely delivery.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Uphold rigorous standards for quality, safety, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle, mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to regulatory and client requirements.
• Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, tracking procurement activities, material deliveries, and deliverables to maintain project momentum and avoid delays.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate seamless coordination among engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align project objectives with schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks.
• Technical Issue Resolution: Lead the identification and resolution of technical challenges, providing data-driven recommendations to Project Management to mitigate risks and optimize outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Sulzer in technical meetings with clients and suppliers, including HAZOP studies, P&ID reviews, and 3D model assessments, ensuring action items are addressed promptly and effectively.
• Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and issuance of critical project documentation, including specifications, requisitions, and technical evaluations, to maintain transparency and accountability.
• Change Management: Monitor and control project changes, processing potential change orders with precision to assess impacts on scope, schedule, and budget.
• Production Support: Act as a liaison between production teams and external stakeholders, conducting regular project reviews and promoting best practices in project management to enhance efficiency and collaboration.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Project Management considered a strong asset.
• PMP Certification or equivalent project management qualification.
• Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in the Energy & Infrastructure sector or related industries, with a proven track record in project delivery.
• Proficiency in project management principles and tools, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including clients, suppliers, and internal departments, to achieve common objectives.
• Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills essential for international assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt to dynamic project environments.
