Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Commissioning Lead to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for mission-critical data center commissioning projects, specifically within Tier III and Tier IV facilities. This role demands a seasoned professional capable of managing end-to-end commissioning processes, including Level 0 through Level 6 (L0–L6) activities, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and seamless project handover for hyperscale and AI data centers. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in redundant power and cooling architectures, such as N+1 and 2N configurations, and will be responsible for driving the successful execution of complex commissioning programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Provide overall leadership for data center commissioning initiatives, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Commissioning Oversight: Direct L0–L6 commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Performance Functional Testing (PFT), Functional Testing (FT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate hands-on experience with redundant power and cooling systems, such as N+1 and 2N architectures, to ensure optimal performance and reliability of critical infrastructure.
- Documentation & Reporting: Oversee the management of commissioning documentation, reporting, and electronic CX platforms to maintain transparency and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary interface between the client, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), fostering collaboration and resolving cross-functional challenges.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) teams, Building Management Systems (BMS), Information Technology (IT), and security stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A PhD or master’s degree in engineering, with a specialization in mechanical, electrical, or an equivalent discipline, from a recognized and accredited university.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 20 years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record in data center commissioning, particularly within hyperscale and AI environments.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of redundant power and cooling systems, commissioning methodologies, and testing protocols for critical infrastructure.
- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive project success under demanding conditions.
