IT Data Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven IT Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the BI & Analytics Director, this role is pivotal in transforming raw data into strategic business insights through advanced analytics, interactive reporting, and self-service business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams including Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, IT, and key business stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing our data-driven decision-making processes by performing the following duties and responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business insights that drive informed decision-making across the organization.
• Interactive Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to meet the analytical and reporting needs of various business functions.
• Business Requirement Translation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate their requirements into analytical solutions, KPIs, and performance metrics that align with organizational objectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers to ensure data availability, integrity, and seamless integration into reporting frameworks.
• Power BI Development & Maintenance: Create, optimize, and maintain Power BI reports, datasets, and visualizations to support enterprise-wide reporting initiatives and self-service analytics.
• Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Implement standardized metrics, definitions, and reporting practices to uphold data governance standards. Perform rigorous data validation, quality checks, and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and accuracy of analytical outputs.
• AI-Powered Analytics: Leverage advanced AI capabilities within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including Copilot and Natural Language Query, to enhance insight generation and streamline reporting productivity.
• User Enablement & Training: Support business users in adopting self-service BI tools and standardized datasets, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
• Documentation & Methodology: Document analytical methodologies, reporting logic, and business definitions to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and compliance with best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities to drive operational efficiency and strategic growth.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications, experience, and technical proficiencies:

• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3-7 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics, with at least 3-5 years dedicated to Power BI, SQL, and business intelligence reporting.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Expertise in designing and developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
  • Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M) for advanced report development and complex calculations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric components, including Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake, and Data Pipelines, is highly desirable.
• Analytical & Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and performance dashboards that drive strategic decision-making.
• AI & Automation Exposure: Experience with AI-assisted analytics, Power BI Copilot, and Natural Language Query capabilities is considered a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) are highly advantageous and will be regarded as a strong differentiator.
