HSE Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety, health, and environmental compliance across all our facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Program Implementation and Improvement: Support the development, execution, and enhancement of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs to ensure a secure and compliant working environment across all BCR sites.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and applicable local and international regulations, including ISO 45001, hygiene standards, and food safety protocols.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough workplace inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards, and collaborate on corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate risks effectively.
• Audit and Quality Assurance: Participate in internal audits and risk assessments related to HSE, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other quality management systems to verify compliance and drive operational excellence.
• Training and Awareness: Assist in the development and delivery of HSE awareness and safety training programs to empower employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe workplace.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and document HSE performance metrics, incidents, near misses, and safety observations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management for informed decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to promote a unified safety culture, share best practices, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall operational safety and efficiency.
• Policy and Standard Maintenance: Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 45001 and other relevant management system requirements to ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
• Incident Management: Assist in the investigation of HSE incidents, near misses, and safety observations, providing actionable insights to prevent recurrence and improve workplace safety.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Up to one year of relevant experience in HSE, with a preference for candidates with exposure to the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
• Certifications: Possession of an HSE Practitioner Certificate, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and industry standards.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 45001 auditing, hygiene and food safety standards, GxP internal audits, and HSE standards.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence positive change in safety culture.
