Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TPE V / Principal Site Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at John Wood Group PLC, based in Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role is designed for a seasoned professional who will oversee and lead electrical engineering activities on-site, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and safety protocols. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and optimization of electrical systems, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and leadership in all aspects of electrical engineering, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Ensure adherence to international codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, and local regulatory requirements.
• Project Execution: Oversee the implementation of electrical engineering solutions from conceptualization to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Safety and Compliance: Champion a culture of safety by enforcing strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards and ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and optimizing system performance. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all electrical engineering activities, including design documents, test reports, and compliance certificates. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the team’s technical competencies and ensure alignment with industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or CEng) are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a principal or leadership role within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy sector.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design and analysis platforms.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in a dynamic work environment.
